Andy Burrows’ ‘Company’ U.S. Release
Andy Burrows (Razorlight, We Are Scientists, I Am Arrows, and Smith & Burrows–a collaboration with Tom Smith of Editors), releases his new solo album Company via [PIAS] America on 10-23-12.
A supremely talented songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Andy first became widely known for his work with Razorlight, joining as drummer in 2004 and going on to co-write some of that band’s biggest hits, including their #1 single, “America.”
Leaving Razorlight in 2009, Burrows joined We Are Scientists as a part-time member, before releasing the 2010 album Sun Comes Up Again, under the moniker I Am Arrows. Sun Comes Up Again garnered righteous critical acclaim and massive radio airplay for its “Green Grass” single, and saw Burrows and his band tour extensively with head line shows, festival dates, and stadium shows as guests with Muse.
A follow-up to Andy’s 2008 solo debut The Colour of My Dreams (a charitable project with all proceeds donated to a hospice for children in Burrow’s home town of Winchester, England), Company embraces a straight-ahead, less-is-more approach, and is built on rock classicism and raw, melancholic melodies. It’s charming restraint yields an effortless intoxication.
Company is the sound of an artist who’s thrown the shackles off and emerged as a bewilderingly creative tour-de-force.
