Agnes Obel‘s sophomoric album Aventine is a striking collection of lush arrangements held together by Agnes‘ stunning voice. With her debut album, Philharmonics compared by critics to the likes of PJ Harvey, Joanna Newsom, and Roy Orbison, Agnes‘ sparse chamber folk has been lauded worldwide.
Originally from Copenhagen, Agnes has lived in Berlin since 2006, where Aventine was recorded at her Chalk Wood Studios. The album was written, arranged, and produced by Agnes, who delivers gorgeous performances on piano and vocals.
