* Four Tracks from New Album Siberia to be Remixed *
* Winning Remixes to be Officially Released *
Electro-rock songstress Lights has announced a remix contest that will feature four songs from her new, critically-acclaimed album Siberia. Partnering with Indaba Music and their online collaboration platform (www.indabamusic.com) the ‘LIGHTS – The Siberia Remixes’ contest will allow participants to create their own versions of the tracks “Banner”, “Everybody Breaks A Glass”, “Siberia” and “Toes.” The contest can be entered now HERE.
“Remixes are a look at another artist’s interpretation of your songs,” said Lights. “It’s not only flattering but also creatively inspiring to see the way another talent would manifest your work. I’m excited to be doing this with Indaba and I’m really looking forward to hearing what these remixers do to the tunes.”
Submissions for the contest will be taken through November 24th, and will be voted on until December 5th with the winners announced on December 19th. One winner for each song will be chosen, and the winning remixes of the songs will be featured on an official release to be announced at a later date.
Released on October 4th via Last Gang Records and her own Lights Music, Siberia debuted at #44 on the Billboard 200, while in Canada coming in at #3 on the Top Albums chart. The album had been building anticipation over the last several months on the strength of the teaser song “Everybody Breaks A Glass” which was leaked for free to fans in early August and subsequently downloaded over 100,000 times, and the album’s first official single and video, “Toes” which is rising at Alternative radio. Sales of singles from the album are over 24,000 to date.
Lights is currently in the middle of an 18-city U.S. tour and expects to continue touring internationally deep into 2012 in support of Siberia.
